MrBeast set a lofty but promising goal back in 2019 to plant 20 million trees before 2020 through the Team Trees Program. It is now 2022 and he and his team have surpassed this goal by a large margin. They reset a new goal of removing 30 million pounds of trash from the seas after observing the success of their first initiative. Team Seas officially started on October 29, 2021, in hopes of positively impacting the environment. In just 3 days after MrBeast’s Team Seas announcement, the internet exploded with #TeamSeas supporters. #TeamSeas allows for supporters to donate money to directly be used to remove trash from the ocean. They ensure that every dollar donated equals one pound of trash removed from the oceans.

This project was launched in collaboration with Mark Rober, a Youtuber and Scientist who is passionate about solving Earth’s environmental problems. He also is an engineer who designed a robot that could pick up trash before these harmful products reached the waters. Rober’s main goal as a Youtuber is to educate the community on environmental issues and raise awareness for nature conservation. Rober played a critical role in helping MrBeast back when the #TeamTrees project was first launched and hopes to continue supporting MrBeast with the new #TeamSease project.

MrBeast has teamed up with numerous Youtubers to support #TeamSeas. Currently, countless YouTubers, such as PrestonPlayz&Brianna, Milad Mirg, and Alan Waler, are supporting #TeamSeas via promotion in their videos. Even Youtube itself has donated four hundred thousand dollars for the cause. The donated money is directly going towards the Ocean Conservancy and The Ocean Clean Up organizations. These non-profit organizations are at the forefront of efforts to reduce the number of waste products in our oceans.

If looking into making an impact in mitigating the impact of ocean pollution, please consider donating to #Team Seas. Let’s unite and save our oceans one step at a time. Support #TeamSeas and donate today!
